How do we stay healthy while staying at home? For some, this question is more complex than for others. For those who have already developed and strengthened tools and practices for wellbeing, including routines for emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health, being at home may feel limiting yet not in any way dangerous. However, for those who struggle with addiction, isolation can create circumstances in which relapse and/or spiraling become more likely.
Even those who don’t struggle with addiction per se may feel more drawn to the couch, a less-than-optimal diet, and the resultant decrease in energy levels.
Like anything, the COVID-19 stay-at-home order is an opportunity. The question is, how are we going to use it? This episode is about how we can use it, perhaps ironically yet perfectly synchronistically, as an opportunity for *healing.*
Katya Slivinskaya and Linda Fischer have both spent years in addiction recovery. This conversation comes from experience and empathy with the struggles associated with addiction.
